Postpartum Doula Services

In my postpartum work, I provide whole-hearted support for both mother and baby, incorporating traditional care practices that were once common knowledge into the modern postpartum landscape.

In Ayurveda, the postpartum period is known as the “sacred window,” in which the care we give ourselves for the first 40 days can determine our health for the next 40 years.

Too many parents pass through this period feeling unsupported, lonely, and unable to truly heal and recover after birth. Isolation is an unnatural way to move through this sacred window. That’s where postpartum doula work comes in — I get to help play the role of “the village,” taking care of things that fall through the cracks, making sure you feel held, and passing along knowledge and wisdom as we go.

My postpartum services include:

  • Daytime and overnight care options (minimum 3 hrs per visit)

  • Integrated mother and baby-centered care, with the understanding that babies thrive when mothers thrive

  • Newborn care

  • Emotional support

  • Referrals to other care providers (pelvic floor therapy, acupuncture, etc.)

  • Digital resource folder

  • Prenatal “postpartum preparation” session

  • Options for traditional preparations and services, including:

    • nourishing meal prep

    • herbal preparations tailored to your needs

    • herbal sitz baths and yoni steams

    • belly binding

    • Closing of the Bones

  • "You have helped shape in beautiful form, the course of my postpartum, my story about this time, my corresponding next chapter, and subsequently, my life. You named the deep ancestral grief I was feeling crushed by of not being in a community of women to hold me in the weeks and early months after my baby’s birth and opened the door into that loving world for me that you stepped through every time you came. • Following my elective c-section, Hannah's presence brought immense relief. Anticipating the challenges of recovering from surgery while caring for a newborn and a toddler, my husband and I sought support. After speaking with Hannah prior to giving birth, we knew her evening assistance would be invaluable. Once she arrived, our lives became much more manageable. Juggling our energetic toddler, dinner prep, baby feedings, and my recovery was incredibly demanding, but Hannah seamlessly integrated herself into our home. Her warm and comforting demeanor made us feel as if she were a dear family member. Not only did she cook a delicious meal (she made enough food that lasted us for days!) but she also tidied the kitchen and treated me to a revitalizing tea she had brought. This thoughtful care allowed my husband to focus on our toddler, while I could finally relax and tend to the baby. Hannah's support was truly a lifeline during those early days. Given the absence of close-by family members, seeking external help became a necessity, and having Hannah by our side truly made a world of difference."

  • Hannah was with our family for the first 6-weeks postpartum for our 3rd daughter - and she was absolutely fabulous! Hannah was so calm and gentle with our newborn, and got her to sleep like a dream! She was so helpful supporting our other postpartum needs - having her with us was invaluable! Our older kids also took to her - she was very kind and warm to them. Overall, Hannah is an amazing doula - caring equally for the newborn as she does for the rest of the family. I cannot recommend a more helpful, and supportive doula.
